PURPOSE

This position is responsible for providing OT intervention(s) to students on Individual Education

Plans (IEP) or 504 plans. The students have a variety of educationally related disabilities and

may also have underlying medical diagnoses. This position serves students K - 12.

• Evaluating school-related function fine motor, sensory-motor, and self-help skills within

the scope of occupational therapy practice as designated by the Missouri Occupational

Therapy Practice Act.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To : Supervisor of OT / PT

Supervises : None

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum : Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited OT program. Must be listed on the professional registry and licensed in the state of Missouri. Experience in providing OT to children is required.

Preferred : Experience serving children in a public-school setting is preferred. Advanced training in school-based practice is a plus, as well as experience in serving children with autism and / or multiple disabilities.

Physical Demands : An individual who holds this position is frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, bend, and kneel; Is regularly required to talk and hear; daily personal and close contact with children is required; the selected applicant will regularly assist students with bodily movement; Must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds; Will regularly push, pull, reach for, and carry objects; Must demonstrate significant finger dexterity; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
