Job Summary
The Creative Arts Therapist is a direct service position responsible for providing creative arts therapy within the YWCA Eastern Union County PALS Program. The focus areas include individual and group therapy in dance / movement, drama, and art, along with intake and assessment, parent education, and documentation. All shelter staff will be trained to answer the hotline and cover backup shifts.

Qualifications and Experience
Master's degree in creative arts therapy or equivalentBoard Certified (ATR-BC) or eligiblePrior counseling or clinical experienceExperience with children, domestic violence, or trauma survivors preferredBilingual / bicultural skills are a plusExcellent verbal, written, and public speaking skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteBilingual in SpanishValid Driver's License and reliable transportationFlexible schedule, including some evenings and weekendsKey Responsibilities
Intake & Assessment
Conduct intake assessments and psychological tests for children in the programCreate individualized treatment plansCollaborate with PALS staff to meet each child's needsCreative Arts Therapy
Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessionsIncorporate safety planning and respectful behavior education into sessionsParent Education
Educate parents about domestic violence dynamics and non-violent parenting strategiesPromote family bonding through creative arts sessionsTraining & Supervision
Attend staff and supervisory meetingsParticipate in required trainingsDocumentation
Maintain accurate client records and reportsSubmit reports timely and professionallyAdditional Duties
Attend meetings, trainings, and community eventsCoordinate with other YWCA programsRepresent the agency externally and internally as neededProvide transportation if necessaryAnswer hotline and cover shelter shifts as trainedThis job description is a broad outline and may be amended as needed.
