Seeking a surgery financial counselor for our robust ENT specialty practice. This position requires an individual with an in-depth understanding of health insurance plans and policies, great customer service and a positive attitude. 3-5 years of direct experience with healthcare insurers is preferred, of which no less than 1 year experience procuring prior authorizations is required. This is not a remote position.

Job Responsibilities

• Obtaining prior authorizations for surgical procedures
• Patient counseling regarding their benefits
• Collecting pre-payments
• Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
• Working collaboratively with third-party vendors
• Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines and regulations

Requirements

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and insurance companies

Analytical skills to assess patient financial responsibility

Proficiency with various payor portals and websites

Strong understanding of medical billing codes and insurance policies
