- Graduate from a state accredited school of professional nursing.\n
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license required.\n
- For Staff Registered Nurse positions within specialty area, prior employment experience in the appropriate clinical setting is preferred.\n
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.\n\nCONTINUING EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS\n
- Position requires RN to be familiar with hospital and department policies and procedures,\n\naccepted methods of requisitioning ancillary department service work, and familiarity with the\n\nmedial staff. This knowledge is normally acquired through 1-3 months of orientation time.\n
- Must maintain current nursing knowledge and BLS certification and required CEU's for\n\nrelicensure.\n

- QUALIFICATIONS : Must have current, unencumbered R.N. license to practice in the State of Michigan; level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a minimum of two years of college level training in nursing, BSN preferred.\n\nOB / Nursery / pediatric experienced preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; analytical ability to assess and evaluate patient's condition and utilize the nursing process; interpersonal skills necessary to constantly communicate with patients, families, medical personnel, and other members of the health care team; ability to work cooperatively within the framework of the nursing team; ability to perform effectively and efficiently under pressure and stressful critical situations; ability to operate a computer. Required to obtain NRP certification within 3 months of orientation. Responsible to maintain unit competencies and annual education requirements.\n\nAdditional Job Description\n\nSpecial Care Nursery RNs shall complete NRP within 3 months of orientation and STABLE within 6 months of nursery orientation. Orientation to include portions of NOEP (AWHONN'S Neonatal Orientation Education Program) Training Program and shadowing of the NNP's assigned.
