OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Procurement Assistant plays a critical role in supporting procurement, inventory, and supplier management functions across the organization. This position requires strong multitasking and communication skills, along with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, contributing to the success of the company by supporting procurement strategies and ensuring accurate execution of daily operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support shipping and receiving activities, with a primary focus on receiving.
- Manage inventory : pick and kit parts, fulfill daily requests, and maintain stock levels.
- Create part numbers, pull prints, and prepare documents for supplier quotes and purchase orders.
- Update internal databases with order details (vendors, dates, quantities, costs, discounts).
- Assist with onboarding new vendors and maintaining accurate vendor records.
- Generate and distribute reports on inventory levels, supplier performance, and production schedules.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to support ISO and AS9100 compliance.
- Assist with ordering and tracking MRO items, office supplies, and shop / janitorial materials.
- Track open orders, communicate with suppliers, and collaborate with internal teams on status updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2–4 years of experience in a support, administrative, or procurement-related role.Knowledge of—or willingness to learn—packing standards, crating, and shipping documentation.Familiarity with UPS and FedEx shipping processes.Understanding of expediting shipment procedures.Proficiency in computer systems with the ability to work in an ERP environment.Ability to read packing specifications and customer flow-down requirements.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.U.S. citizenship required (no dual citizenship).DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
General understanding of the product lifecycle (prototype, production, aftermarket).Experience with inventory management in a high-mix, low-volume environment.Knowledge of supplier management, contract deliverables, and cost / schedule performance.Familiarity with aerospace requirements such as ITAR, DFARS, NADCAP, and AS9100.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND VISUAL DEMANDS
Standard office environment; occasional exposure to manufacturing plant noise / temperature, requiring PPE.Frequent speaking, listening, and computer use.Vision requirements include depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
