Overview

The City of Pueblo is recruiting for a Tax Auditor I. The Tax Auditor I will perform examinations of various business and governmental records of local and remote businesses, prepare detailed documentation of audit findings, and assure compliance with the City's Sales / Use Tax and license ordinances. The role involves interpreting Municipal Code, State statutes and regulations, and court cases related to tax or license administration and enforcement, while delivering customer service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Examine business and governmental records for compliance with tax and license provisions.
• Prepare detailed documentation of audit findings.
• Assure compliance with the City's Sales / Use Tax and license ordinances.
• Interpret Municipal Code, State statutes and regulations, and relevant court decisions.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a variety of benefits that provide work / life balance and PERA retirement, with a competitive annual salary of $74,166.00 - $92,131.20.
