Director - Risk and Compliance

Midlands Bank, a leader in delivering personalized banking solutions using innovative technologies, is seeking a Director of Risk and Compliance. This strategic position involves overseeing the risk management and compliance functions to safeguard the organization's assets and maintain its reputation. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to assess and mitigate financial risks, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and support the bank's objectives. Develop and implement comprehensive risk management policies and procedures across the bank. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal and ethical standards applicable to banking and financial operations. Lead the Compliance Department, providing guidance and oversight to the team. Conduct risk assessments, report findings, and recommend improvements directly to senior management. Manage the bank's risk exposure by setting risk measurement and risk management goals that align with the bank?s strategic objectives. Engage with external regulators and advisors routinely to ensure compliance with current and future regulations. Oversee training and development of staff on compliance standards and risk management techniques. Prepare detailed reports for the executive board on risk exposure and remediation strategies.
