Accountant I

Accounting Analyst

The candidate must have a basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and can analyze and report financial information under such principles; perform month end close processes and procedures including journal entries & variance analysis; prepare account reconciliations. Understanding of all aspects of general ledger accounting with multiple companies and locations experience is a plus. Must have excellent communication skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities :

• Analyzes financial information to ensure accurate recording of assets, liabilities, revenue and expense. Ability to problem solve and analyze all facets of accounting from revenue & expense recognition to accurate balance sheet reporting.
• Strong general ledger accounting skills to prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. Compiles and analyzes general ledger information in accordance with GAAP.
• Ability to analyze processes both internal to General Accounting and with other departments that work with General Accounting. The ability to identify, recommend and implement process improvements.
• Assist in preparing audit work papers, and ability to work with external auditors.
• Ability to work in designated time frames for monthly reconciliations and duties, quarterly and annual projects.
• Ability to work in multiple accounting and Microsoft Office software programs (Excel and Access).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with all departments in the organization. Must be a team player.
