Urology Director Of National Accounts
The Urology Director of National Accounts drives field-based partnerships to foster sustained sales growth for approved indications. This role champions value-based messaging, resource development, and collaborative cross-functional execution to unlock new opportunities and build enduring customer relationships across diverse healthcare settings including community / private practices, community-based hospitals, academic medical centers, military treatment facilities, and Veteran's Affairs Medical Centers. The Director of National Accounts, in partnership with Regional Directors, District Managers and Account Specialists, cultivates external relationships with identified key opinion leaders and accounts, while also working alongside with Sales, Payer, Contracting, Marketing, and Field Reimbursement Manager teams to develop and execute growth strategies. The Director of National Accounts continually assesses growth opportunities, threats to growth, responding to contract / formulary reviews, providing market intelligence on competitive strategies, and strategically aligning with the marketing departments while ensuring that all actions are executed in a legally compliant manner. The DNA will be responsible for the implementation of both one-time and ongoing pricing initiatives for qualifying customers.
Key duties and responsibilities :
- Deliver innovative, results-driven growth that exceeds national benchmarks across all key and contracted accounts.
- Champion adaptive strategies leveraging market awareness and insights to support growth in assigned geography.
- Continuously evaluate regional trends and opportunities to develop forward-looking plans, measure outcomes, and foster ongoing improvement in market share and volume.
- Cultivate professional relationships through quarterly business meetings with identified Key Opinion Leaders and accounts as well as attending major conferences for relevant associations and large groups, to constantly assess avenues of growth and maintain a readiness to address identified threats and solidify the use for approved indications.
- Assist in developing and executing value proposition messaging and resources alongside marketing.
- Prepare and deliver AbbVie corporate responses to "requests for proposal / price" (RFPs), develop / execute / monitor adherence and effectiveness of contracting / pricing initiatives, and participate in formulary reviews, in collaboration with supported District Managers and Account Specialists.
- Provide quarterly growth opportunity assessments, sharing actionable market intelligence and collaborative strategies with Sales and Marketing leadership
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree or higher is required; Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience is preferredDocumented history of driving strong team performance as a managerMinimum of 15 years total business experience in health care, pharmaceuticals, and / or biotechnology, with 10 years successful consultative sales experience with high reimbursement components, 5 years management experience, and experience selling and / or managing Buy & Bill, Specialty Pharmacy, Medicare Part B, and Medicare Part D products is requiredExperience with customer contracting and sales channel managementKnowledge of and experience with legal / regulatory compliance requirements related to the pharma / biotech industryProven history of market / business planning to develop a strategy, and the ability to execute / lead a team to successfully execute the strategyAbility and willingness to meet necessary hospital credentialing / vaccination requirementsAbility to commit to 50% overnight travel; Ability to travel adequately to cover regional commitments and attendance at conferences, scheduled training events, sales meetings, and other AbbVie eventsValid driver's license with ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirementsExperience managing an expense budgetAdditional Information :
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
