Senior Systems Engineer
Applied Research Solutions has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics' (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for Tactical Information Systems (PEO-TIS) Integrated Sensor Systems. PEO-TIS is composed of a team of relentless acquisition professionals who consistently team with government and industry partners to rapidly develop and field state-of-the-art sensors, C2, and specialized communication systems that enable the Nation's SOF Warfighters to win.
Responsibilities Include :
- Evaluates and recommends programs and development plans, utilizing a professional knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
- Works with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for proposed projects.
- Supports technical evaluation elements of market surveys conducted in conjunction with assigned projects and programs.
- Provides technical consultation involving applicable test engineering technology; determines test requirements and overall objectives; prepare test plans to meet the requirement of the project.
- Supports improvement and modernization, advanced strategic planning, marketing, and technical symposia; supports management of the organization's direct and reimbursable budget and verification of test program funds.
- Directs and coordinates engineering and maintenance programs and informs development of criteria for specialized critical system design.
- Plans, develops, and implements procedures for review of acquisition programs and military engineering programs; directs engineering sufficiency review of these programs until turnover.
- Provides decision support inputs for approval of plans, specification, cost estimates, design calculations, schedules, cost proposals, and engineering studies.
- Applies advanced tools to document and analyze the results of critical, complex activities, and tasks.
- Plans, executes, and documents surveillance of design, development, and production efforts on behalf of government counterparts, using performance indicators identified in applicable engineering surveillance processes.
- Provides significant, expert-level support to government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of agency engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
- Completes advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, and nonconforming materials.
- Supports contract modification and makes technical recommendations for change order approval.
- Provides expert level inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, projects, problems, and recommended resolution.
- Analyzes trends in performance indicators to assist government counterparts with managing-Agency level performance indicators, recommending corrective action, establishing lessons learned, and influencing the improvement of processes.

Qualifications / Technical Experience Requirements :
Citizenship : Must be a US citizen
Clearance : TS w / SCI eligibility
Certifications : Advanced (formerly Level III) DAWIA Equivalency in the Engineering Management field
Education : Master's Degree
Years of Experience : Minimum of 10 years experience in Systems Engineering supporting DoD acquisition activities
Additional Experience : 3 years of DoD experience in any of the following areas :
Military CommunicationsSignals IntelligenceInformation TechnologyWorking knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.02, OPERATION OF THE ADAPTIVE ACQUISITION FRAMEWORKStrategic level of technical knowledge in Military Communications or Information Technology capabilitiesSkill in evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and environmental / engineering technologies and incorporating into the planning, design, operation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of applicable systemsStrong working Knowledge of MS Office Suite and project management / scheduling software applications such as MS ProjectAll positions at Applied Research Solutions are subject to background investigations.
