Assistant Director Of Information Technology
The Assistant Director of Information Technology assists in departmental planning, budgeting, resource management, and project oversight while serving as a key leader in the Information Technology (IT) department's strategic initiatives and operations.
Essential Job Duties
- Prepare and manage annual departmental budget including quotes, purchases, and invoice approvals.
- Coordinate IT staff, external vendors, and consultants in technical projects.
- Work with stakeholders to identify, recommend, develop, and implement cost-effective technology solutions.
- Contribute to IT policies and procedures development in areas such as architecture, security, and disaster recovery.
- Participate in formulating and executing long-term strategic plans for the IT department.
- Represent IT department in executive meetings and various committees.
- Coordinate communications between IT and campus community for project needs.
- Provide guidance and training to team members.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology management with 5-8 years of experienceMaster's degree preferred2 years of managerial experience preferredLicenses / Certifications
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple technical projects and resourcesDemonstrated experience in IT infrastructure, security, and business analysisExcellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organizationStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity for independent learningHigh emotional intelligence with proven ability to build and maintain professional relationshipsProficient in Microsoft products, Linux, and cloud technologiesExperience in budget management and resource allocationMust have a strong work ethic and lead by exampleMust be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the communityDemonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsibleAbility to communicate in a courteous mannerPhysical Demands
