We are looking for a Propulsion Design Manager to enhance our Propulsion Development team. This role is critical in developing and optimizing advanced propulsion systems to meet our aggressive and innovative goals. You will be responsible for developing and qualifying air breathing propulsion systems along with supporting flight testing as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own the mechanical design process of engine components

Drive excellence in the mechanical design of engines. Evangelize and demonstrate the standard for a propulsion designer.

Support the production of propulsion products. Partner with manufacturing to improve the yield, quality and cost of the delivered product.

Proactively communicate to customers and cross functional leads. Inform cross functional stake holders of upcoming changes to design.

Grow Anduril’s propulsion design capability. Identify growth opportunities for team members. Empower engineers to find ways to continually improve their product.

Facilitate cross functional teamwork. Work with the performance team to develop class leading turbomachinery. Work with the test team to identify issues and drive them to closure.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

BS or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

7 years relevant design engineering experience

Experience managing engineering teams

Experience designing mechanical parts (CAD) in NX. Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, castings, etc.)

Proficient in mechanical drawings, ASME Y14.5 GD&T.

Experience procuring parts and working in a machine shop. Working knowledge of machine safety and shop safety protocols.

Excellent attention to detail.

U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in development of turbomachinery products.

Mechanical design of components from early conceptual phase into production :

Design for volume manufacturing.

Detailed assembly stackup development.

Working knowledge of engine materials and selection.

US Salary Range $160,000 — $220,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and / or training, critical skills, and / or business considerations.
