The Director of Revenue Cycle Management Services leads back-end operations for client engagements, ensuring all outcomes are achieved in alignment with the Statement of Work (SOW). This role partners directly with hospital revenue cycle leaders, leveraging analytics and operational expertise to drive performance in billing, AR follow-up, denials, and account resolution. The Director provides oversight of global and domestic teams, maintains strong communication with stakeholders, and serves as a trusted advisor to executives by delivering measurable improvements and sustainable results.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Own accountability for client project outcomes in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW), ensuring deliverables, timelines, and performance standards are consistently met.
- Lead project management efforts for Epic- and non-Epic–based engagements, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to scope, budget, and contractual requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of communication with client stakeholders, providing updates, performance insights, risk / issue escalation, and recommendations for improvement.
- Identify barriers to operational excellence and develop actionable solutions to drive financial performance and client satisfaction.
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret operational data (productivity, aging, denial trends, collections, etc.) to inform decision-making and strategy.
- Collaborate with client leadership and cross-functional Healthrise teams (clinical, coding, CDI, IT, analytics) to optimize back-end workflows and revenue cycle outcomes.
- Develop work plans, assign tasks, and manage projects in alignment with client and organizational priorities.
- Provide informed feedback and strategic recommendations to Healthrise and client executives to support continuous improvement.
Leadership Responsibilities
Provide direct leadership and accountability for global and domestic operations teams aligned to assigned projects.Drive performance management through clear KPIs, dashboards, and consistent monitoring of productivity, quality, and compliance.Hold leaders and team members accountable for results, ensuring alignment to SOW metrics and client expectations.Build strong partnerships with client leadership, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate for operational excellence.Lead regular performance reviews, business reviews, and governance meetings with stakeholders.Coach, mentor, and develop leaders and staff through structured career development, cross-training, and succession planning.Address performance challenges promptly, aligning resources and providing corrective support to protect project outcomes.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across domestic and global teams.Manage staffing schedules, capacity planning, and coverage models to ensure adequate support of client needs and contractual commitments.Champion employee engagement through recognition, professional development, and alignment to organizational values.Ensure compliance with Healthrise policies, client requirements, payer guidelines, and all applicable regulations.Requirements : Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience7+ years of experience in hospital revenue cycle environmentEpic expertise within the continuum of revenue cycle preferredSolid understanding of revenue cycle workflow in the hospital environment (registration, scheduling, coding, billing, contracting)A high degree of self-motivation, versatility, and flexibilityIn-depth knowledge of the complete healthcare revenue cycleAbility to work closely with groups outside of your organization / control (i.e. consultants or clients)Excellent presentation skillsStrong attention to detail and follow-through skillsCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsOccasional travelPhysical Demands and Work Environment
Work Environment : This job operates in a professional home environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.Physical Demands : This is largely a sedentary role; however, employees may need to use keyboards, mouse, and other devices for typing, clicking, and navigating software systems.
