Responsibilities Work in a medical-surgical telemetry unit specializing in oncology within a hospital setting Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various solid tumor cancers such as breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancer Care provided throughout the cancer journey, including new diagnosis, active treatment, and end-of-life care Staffing ratios are typically 1 : 4, with occasional 1 : 5 Uses Epic for computerized charting Shifts available are 3x12 hour days (7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM) or nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM) Self-scheduling requests are considered before final posting Floating required to other Med / Surg Oncology units First week consists of classroom orientation on dayshift followed by on-unit precepted orientation Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall precautions Cares for patients with both oncology and general med / surg needs No set or blocked scheduling; weekend requirements vary based on unit needs Locals are accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible after 6 months away; current employees ineligible for assignments at Ohio State University hospitals RTO must be requested at time of consideration Fingerprinting must be completed urgently after contract signing per Ohio requirements Accepts first-time travelers Requirements Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Minimum of 2 years of RN experience Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Experience in telemetry interpretation and monitoring required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Previous travel experience preferred Oncology experience preferred but not required Two professional references required, with one from a formal supervisor or manager Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-619640.
