Overview

Shark Party Media is seeking an enthusiastic, quick-witted, journalistically minded Public Relations Assistant with an interest in the entertainment media space, including Comedy, Podcasting and Journalism. This remote, part-time, hourly independent contractor position has potential for growth within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Calendar upkeep
  • Inbox organization
  • Report administration
  • Proofreading copy
  • Researching contacts in the media
  • Formatting press documents
  • Updating website with client assets
  • Organizing schedules for client interviews
  • Formatting and posting articles to company social media
  • Tailoring onboarding materials for new clients
  • Tracking and reporting hours for billing weekly

Requirements

  • Attitude of curiosity and kindness
  • Interest and willingness to work with team members to improve company systems and strategy
  • Grounded sense of organization
  • Creative thinking skills
  • Ability to use Mail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets
  • Familiarity with Muck Rack is a plus

    • Helpful but not required

  • Located in LA or NYC
  • Experience in Communications, Marketing or Promotions is a plus but not required
  • BA degree or higher
  • Any degree or training in PR, Communications, Journalism or related field is a plus but not required
  • Interest in attending NYC or LA shows and events

    • Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour / Approximately 20 hours per week
