Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is reimagining cloud networking to be more secure, scalable, and performant. As a Software Development Engineer on the DRG gateways team, you will contribute to the systems that route most customer traffic in and out of the Oracle Cloud. This role offers the opportunity to grow your backend systems and networking expertise while collaborating with senior engineers and mentors on a team that values clarity, ownership, and continuous learning.

You'll help build and maintain services that power critical cloud infrastructure-handling routing protocols (like BGP), virtual networking, and internal control plane systems. You'll be part of a team that prioritizes quality, operational excellence, and customer trust.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy well-structured and maintainable code in a distributed networking stack.

Implement enhancements and bug fixes to routing and networking-related systems, under the guidance of senior engineers.

Collaborate closely with teammates on design reviews, code reviews, testing, and operational support.

Participate in operational monitoring and on-call rotations to gain real-world experience with highly available cloud systems.

Write clear documentation and contribute to runbooks, tools, and test automation for improved team velocity.

Actively seek feedback and mentorship to continuously grow your technical and professional skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

2-4 years of professional software development experience, including internships or co-ops.

Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, C, Java, Python).

Basic understanding of distributed systems, networking concepts, or cloud infrastructure.

Familiarity with software engineering best practices : version control, testing, code reviews.

BS / MS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US : Hiring Range in USD from : $73,700 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off : Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
