DESCRIPTION

Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Outpatient Pharmacy Technician III performs a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting and able to perform all general tasks in all areas of the pharmacy. They will assist the pharmacist in preparation of medications for patient use according to established procedures; facilitates in the distribution of medications including delivery of medications to the patient's bedside (Med-2-Bed program); performs computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions; maintains inventory levels; and performs other duties as assigned. Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in different pharmacy areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
• Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of five years of relevant retail / outpatient experience is required.
• Experience in project management / system responsibility (e.g. Pyxis, narcotic control, QI, or pharmacy buyer / biller / analyst); OR is a Pharmacy School graduate; OR expanded responsibilities over several areas OR possess a Pharmacy Intern License.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.
• Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Annual Full Pay Range : $67,756 - $84,209 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent : $32.45 - $40.33
