This position is responsible for the planning, estimating, and scheduling of maintenance work from service requests or work orders. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Essential Job Functions
- Plans, estimates, and schedules maintenance work and activities using the department's Work and Asset Management System (WAMS).
- Receives and reviews daily service requests, prioritizes and coordinates work schedules to meet work request objectives, and projects work completion dates.
- Receives, enters, and processes service requests and work orders from internal and external customers using the department's WAMS.
- Conducts field or site investigations including initial contact with the customer within three business days of receiving the service request or work order.
- Coordinates with personnel in the Operations Division to determine needed resources (labor, equipment, and material) to plan and schedule work.
- Determines feasibility, cost-effective solutions, scope, priority, and resource (labor, equipment, and material) requirements for work.
- Regularly updates work orders in the WMAS as necessary after work is estimated and scheduled, assigned, and completed.
- Provides customers with schedules of planned work and updates on any changes in work schedules.
- Schedules the department's equipment and vehicles for preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of basic principles, standards, and practices of the assigned department.Ability to plan, schedule, and evaluate the quality and quantity of work needed to accomplish work goals.Knowledge of appropriate County, State, and Federal safety practices, procedures, and regulations.Excellent communication skills and a proactive communication style, both written and orally.Ability to investigate, research, and evaluate maintenance and construction issues to determine technically sound, feasible, and cost-effective procedures.Ability to perform basic arithmetic and geometry to calculate and determine volume, area, distance, and elevation.Ability to plan, organize, and use mature judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions in accordance with established policy.Skill in effectively dealing with the public to resolve sensitive disputes or service requests.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and other employees.Minimum Requirements
Physical Skills : Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication.
Education, Training and Experience : Associate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years' in maintenance planning, scheduling functions or related experience OR graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and six (6) years' experience.
In House Candidates : This position qualifies for DAP.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations : Must possess a valid Florida driver's license which must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
