As a Repair Engineer within Safran Nacelles Services Americas, MRO station based in Indianapolis, you will be responsible for designing and substantiating repairs for aircraft nacelle components.
Responsibilities :
- Design repair solutions for damages on composite and metallic parts.
- Substantiate the structural strength of repairs by conducting static and fatigue analyses, based on Safran Nacelles' existing cases and guidelines.
- Write repair or replacement procedures and stress notes.
- Lead repair cases and obtain necessary approvals within Safran Nacelles or third parties.
- Coordinate with shop floor, suppliers, planners, and mechanics to implement repairs.
- Continuously improve production efficiency and quality to meet key metrics.
- Collect repair history and develop generic repair solutions for future improvements.
- Participate actively in team activities like 5S, QRQC, and continuous improvement.
- Occasionally act as Back-Up for the Engineering Manager, providing technical support to back office and production departments, ensuring minimal time loss.
Job Requirements :
Familiarity with technical documentation such as maintenance manuals and engineering drawings.Knowledge of composite and metallic structures.Understanding of static stress analysis and finite element methods (FEM). Training in France may be provided.Proficiency in English (reading and speaking).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.Positive attitude and ability to work well in an office environment.Experience with FEA software : MATLAB, Patran, Nastran.Experience with 3D modeling software : CATIA, Fusion, SolidWorks.Company Information :
