Financial Controller
We are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Financial Controller with a strong experience in cost accounting to lead daily financial operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is pivotal in overseeing the finance team and driving key accounting functions, including cost analysis, inventory valuation, and profitability reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset and operational expertise to enhance financial performance and organizational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Lead the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings in accordance with IFRS.
- Prepare financial statements and key management reports, offering insights into business performance and trends.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment to protect company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, analyze variances, and provide insights into cost structures and financial drivers.
- Monitor manufacturing and inventory costs, recommend improvements to cost control measures, and analyze margin performance.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external audits, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee cash flow and working capital, including preparation of 13-week cash flow forecasts.
- Continuously improve financial systems and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis and guidance to executive leadership.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
Proficient in accounting operations, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, cost accounting, and cost analysis.Experienced in journal entries, audits, accounts payable, and broader finance processes.Industry experience in the Food or Nutraceutical sector is preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.Minimum of five years of leadership experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal requirements.Proven experience in cost accounting, financial close processes, and detailed financial statement analysis.Proficiency with SAP Business One or a comparable ERP system is required.Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is preferred.Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, business-oriented approach.Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.Track record of process improvement and effective team supervision.Analytical problem-solver with a keen attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.Work Environment
This is a first-shift, fully on-site position within a business casual work environment. You'll be part of a collaborative accounting and finance team consisting of five members.
Job Type & Location
This is a permanent position based out of Largo, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 / yr.
