Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician III to join our team. This role requires advanced knowledge in troubleshooting and maintaining variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and 480-volt motor control systems in industrial or commercial environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with a strong understanding of complex electrical systems and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain VFDs from major manufacturers (e.g. Toshiba, AllenBradley, ABB, Siemens, etc.)
- Perform diagnostics and maintenance on PLC-based control systems.
- Install, wire, and test 480V motor controls and related equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Execute preventive maintenance routines and document all work performed.
- Work independently or with a team on control system upgrades, installations, and emergency repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Assist in the commissioning of new systems and support start-up operations.
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or commercial electrical setting.Strong proficiency in troubleshooting VFDs and motor control systems.Experience working with and programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred).Ability to safely work with 480V systems and understand lockout / tagout procedures.Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Strong attention to detail and documentation.Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated areas when required.Preferred Certifications (not required but a plus) :
Journeyman or Master Electrician License.OSHA 10 / 30 Certification.VFD and / or PLC manufacturer-specific training or certification.Benefits :
