Join to apply for the HTML Tutor role at Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company . The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationwide with online tutors. As a tutor on the platform, you'll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students' learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

  • Tutor remotely via the Live Learning Platform with no commuting required.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you'd like.
  • Match with students who fit your teaching style and expertise.
  • Provide personalized, engaging instruction and explain HTML concepts clearly.
  • Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
  • Handle tutoring sessions and invoicing; the platform manages payments.

What We Look For In a Tutor

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in HTML with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

  • 1-on-1 Online Tutoring – Provide personalized instruction to individual students.
  • Instant Tutoring – Accept on-demand tutoring requests whenever you're available.

    • Compensation, Schedule, and Logistics

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40 / hour for continuing sessions with the same student.
  • Get paid up to twice per week.
  • Set your own hours and tutor remotely using the platform.
  • We handle logistics; you invoice for sessions and we process payments.
