Fatigue and Propulsion Loads Engineer
We are seeking a Fatigue and Propulsion Loads Engineer for our Boulder, Colorado facility. This person will act as the Integrated Finite Element Model (IFEM) integrator and the fatigue loads specialist.
Position Responsibilities :
Integrate, verify, maintain the IFEM composed of pylon, nacelle and engine FE models according to the rules specified in the IFEM Protocol
Collect and track all the load cases from all the interested parties, apply load cases to the static non-linear IFEM model, distribute the resulting interface loads to all the interested parties for the purpose of design and structural verification. Produce the relevant documentation. Loads must be produced according to the rules specified in the Loads Protocol.
Produce dynamic reduced models for fan blade out and windmilling dynamic loads analysis.
Support trade studies and parametric analysis, e.g. pylon stiffness studies.
Compile ground-air-ground (GAG) cycle
Produce load cases for fatigue analysis according to Part25 regulations and GAG cycle
Interface with fatigue and damage tolerance structural specialists within the company and at suppliers
General support to loads modeling and analysis
Produce the relevant documentation
Required Qualifications :
BS / MS / PhD in Aeronautical, Structural Engineering or related fields
Structural FEM modeling / analysis with NASTRAN or Altair Optistruct, Hypermesh
Experience with aircraft loads analysis, including fatigue
MATLAB proficiency or similar
Working knowledge of aircraft certification (loads)
Knowledge of aerodynamics, flight mechanics and structural mechanics
Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well in a collaborative environment and individually.
Experience in a fast-paced design environment.
Bonus Qualifications (Desired) :
Having been through a 14 CFR Part 25 or Part 23 airplane development and certification program.
