The job summary below and responsibilities reflect the staff engineer level role. The successfully chosen candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with their skills and experience as different skills and / or experience will be required at the senior engineer level.

Join the Gas Modeling team within Integrated System Planning and help build, verify, and enhance the hydraulic models of our natural gas system (both distribution and transmission). These models are foundational to how we plan, evolve, and make strategic decisions about the gas system - supporting long-term capacity planning, regulatory filings, and the Company's 2050 net zero vision.

As a Gas Modeling Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of engineering and data. You'll use tools like Synergi Gas to develop and maintain hydraulic models, integrate data from systems of record (e.g., GIS, SCADA, customer data), and troubleshoot discrepancies to ensure our models reflect real-world conditions. This role requires a technically curious and detail-oriented mindset - someone who keeps pulling the thread on a modeling issue until it's fully understood and resolved. You'll help build the technical capabilities and modeling infrastructure that enable smarter, faster, and more transparent decision-making across the business.

Position Summary

Under general direction, demonstrates complete understanding & wide application of engineering technical principle, theories, & concepts in the field. Independently determines & develops approaches to solutions. Receives technical guidance on complex problems; completed work reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives. May lead small-medium non-critical projects or critical projects under direction of higher level engineer / supervisor. May provide work direction to other professionals & / or staff. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Frequent inter-organizational & outside customer contact. Demonstrates a broad knowledge & proficiency of precedents in the specialty area, a good knowledge of related specialties, & general knowledge of other related disciplines.

Staff Engineer Level (Salary Range : $79,800-$103,666)

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is : $79,800.00 to $126,134.00 per year
