Job Title – SCADA Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Location – Castle Rock, CO (On-site role)

Role Type – Direct Hire, Full-Time

Must Have Skills :

  • Rockwell Suite Expertise : Extensive hands-on experience with Rockwell PLCs and FactoryTalk View SE, including troubleshooting, configuration, and building from scratch.
  • Ignition + MQTT Communications : Strong experience with Ignition (including Ignition Edge) combined with MQTT for SCADA communications, data transfer, reporting, and visualization.
  • Field Instrumentation Skills : Proven ability to calibrate, configure, and wire field instruments to PLCs, ensuring full integration from device through SCADA.
  • Proven experience in water / wastewater utilities or industrial automation environments

Responsibilities and Job Details :

  • Lead planning, upgrades, and expansion of SCADA systems in line with a long-term automation master plan
  • Program, integrate, and maintain Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk, and Emerson / Bristol Babcock systems
  • Support water and wastewater utility operations through advanced automation and controls engineering
  • Ensure cybersecurity practices are implemented and maintained for industrial control systems
  • Develop and implement HMI and telemetry solutions to optimize system performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across PLC, HMI, and communication networks
  • Provide leadership and mentoring on technical projects within the engineering team
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support reliable and efficient utility operations
  • Participate in system upgrades, replacements, and integration projects following PlantPAX philosophy
  • Maintain technical documentation and system configurations for long-term support
  • Perform on-site work in environments with varying conditions, including proximity to high-voltage equipment
