Job Overview
Job Overview : Reports to assigned work locations as required to meet organizational needs. The RSE2 demonstrates confidence in using tools and test equipment to perform preventative maintenance and service on radiological equipment. Ensures radiological equipment meets manufacturer specifications and is safe for patient care. Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills to complete the majority of repairs on multiple modalities. Works independently with little supervision. Aids team members and other clinical engineering staff both remotely and onsite as required. Documents all work performed in a timely fashion and participates in the radiology emergency on-call program. Staff assist management in meeting regulatory requirements and department / organizational goals. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Responsibilities
Conducts preventive maintenance inspections appropriate to level of job competence using productivity and quality measures. Completes PM and minor repairs within reasonable average items per hour guidelines; quality of work is evident.Responds to service requests, troubleshoots and repairs medical equipment to defined proficiency level using established metrics. Documents service requests and repairs in the biomedical equipment database.Maintains knowledge of device function and trains others as needed. Maintains parts inventory to minimize downtime where applicable.Inspects new medical devices and equipment for safety and compliance; secures required device information in the biomedical equipment database; assists with new equipment installations.Assists Manager with regulatory compliance and goals; follows system, hospital and department policies; reports violations that threaten patient safety to management.Maintains shop safety and uses electronic test equipment and tools safely.Participates in On-Call duties after normal hours; responds to calls within 15 minutes by phone and reports to facility within one hour when required.Assists with responding to medical equipment recalls / device alerts from manufacturers and / or FDA.Assists Manager in in-services for staff on specified medical devices; identifies areas for improvement to enhance patient safety and service quality.Qualifications
Minimum AAS degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent work / military experience with radiology equipment.3-5 years of experience servicing radiology equipment on more than one vendor and / or modality.Proficient use of hand tools; working knowledge of electricity / electronics; knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical components.Proficient use of electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope).Completes most repairs without assistance; demonstrates escalation of service events as needed.Working knowledge of MS-Office, computers and networks; knowledge of radiological safety procedures.Valid NJ Driver's License; ability to attend vendor technical training regardless of method / location.Ability to mentor other engineers.Essential Functions

Hours : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM (flexibility required).Remote working location with travel to RWJBH facilities as required; on-call responsibilities.Benefits and Perks
