Overview
Technical Systems Engineering Lead (Evergreen) – R10208300 at Northrop Grumman. This is a full-time, in-person role at the COCO-01 Northrop Grumman facility in a classified closed area environment, with potential infrequent travel to Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type : Secret. Travel : Yes, up to 10% of the time. A non-expired passport is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of systems engineers to deliver on-schedule, on-budget outcomes that meet program quality requirements for the JTAGS program. This includes program management duties and hands-on technical work within an IPT (Integrated Program Team).
- Participate in cross-functional coordination meetings (weekly program flow-down, program management status, daily technical scrums) and interface with program leadership to ensure system specification compliance.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and documentation to ensure reliable, repeatable task execution; balance micro- and macro-level duties; review plans, procedures, reports, drawings, and other documentation for completeness and quality.
- Delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability; onboard and mentor new team members; develop, verify, and validate system, sub-system, and component requirements and track verification status.
- Collaborate with Integration and Test IPTs to ensure JTAGS systems are built and tested to requirements; support design changes and system-level performance analyses using Matlab-based tools.
- Track defect reports and lead root-cause investigations; perform model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to document system architecture and interfaces; maintain robust system baseline documentation.
- Develop strong working relationships with the US Space Force customer; identify, assess, and address risks and opportunities affecting schedule, budget, and technical performance; provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Contribute to future proposal work (basis of estimate and SOW) for systems engineering activities; contribute to process / tool / capability improvements for JTAGSSE activities.
Basic Qualifications
8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM field, or 6 years with a Master's degree.Active Secret security clearance.Working knowledge of RHEL OS command line basics (navigation, file operations, permissions).Proficiency in Matlab; ability to develop scripts and troubleshoot; familiarity with Matlab CVS for revision management.Working knowledge of IBM DOORS for requirements management, including baselines.Ability to derive / develop technical requirements to meet original source requirements and CONOPS; experience with technical writing (reports, briefings, plans, procedures, diagrams).Intermediate to advanced understanding of the Systems Engineering "V".Preferred Qualifications
Experience with satellite communications ground systems and / or missile warning systems.Experience in GUI-based software development, integration, or testing on a RHEL OS.Knowledge of Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar) and DoDAF for MBSE; Python or Bash scripting on Linux.Experience in team leadership or managing individual contributors; project scheduling; CAM experience; familiarity with Microsoft Project; JIRA for task tracking.Experience supporting US Space Force development or sustainment programs; DevSecOps practices.Compensation and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range : $124,900.00 - $187,300.00. Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO. Overtime and discretionary bonuses may apply in some roles depending on position, scope, and market conditions.
