About the Role

NEC delivers leading Transportation and IoT solutions for enterprise and government customers. This includes Public Transportation, Intelligent Transport Systems, IoT, and In-Vehicle Telemetry solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.

This role is responsible for :

Understanding NEC's Smart Transport and IoT domains
Preparing and maintaining automation frameworks and test artefacts
Executing testing and supporting customer-facing solutions
Leveraging AI-powered testing tools and automation to drive efficiency and accuracy

While some manual testing will be required, the primary focus is automation and the adoption of next-generation AI-enabled tooling.

Key Accountabilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into test cases and improve coverage & reliability

Build, maintain, and continuously improve test frameworks

Automate repetitive tasks using advanced scripting and AI tooling

Communicate effectively with stakeholders, customers, and support teams on requirements, service requests, and incidents

Support continuous improvement of products, systems, and services through feedback and best practices

Skills & Experience

Strong knowledge of BDD Cucumber framework, functional / regression testing, and integration with tools such as XRay

Proficient in API testing with REST Assured and integrating tests into CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins)

Advanced scripting skills (Python, Bash) with a strong focus on test automation

Nice to Have : Experience with Android testing

Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications in software testing, verification, and validation.

Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing solutions.
