Your Opportunity as the Senior Program Manager, IS Project Management Organization
You will manage a team of experienced project managers and testing analysts responsible for delivering large IS enabled, cross-functional projects in support of company business objectives. Also manages and oversees large programs within their project portfolio. Creates, develops and implements program level plans consistent with program objectives, business requirements, timeline and budget constraints.
Location : Orrville, OH (Close proximity to Cleveland / Akron)
Work Arrangements : Hybrid - onsite a minimum of 9 days a month primarily during core weeks as determined by the Company; maybe more as business need requires
In this role you will :
People manager for experienced project managers :
- Responsible for developing people (Smucker people development, including administration of career path, individual work / development plans and performance management)
- Responsible for coaching and developing project managers and testing analysts on their team
- Overall accountability for the successful implementation of the project portfolio assigned to their team
Program Manager for large IS enabled initiatives :
Manages a $15 $25 million portfolio of projects annuallyAccountable for the definition, planning, scheduling, execution and successful completion of assigned programsCreates program level plans in collaboration with IS development teams that are aligned with the project management frameworkEnsures that assigned programs are delivered within estimated hours, established completion dates and approved budgetProvides thought leadership and guidance for the QA teamIdentifies and appropriately escalates program level issues in a timely mannerEnsures project management best practices are applied to all project areas, including scope, timeline, budget, resources, risks and communicationsRegularly communicates program status to all stakeholdersDefines, manages and meets customer, stakeholder and project team expectationsEnsures the program delivers the business value as identified by the business customerEstablishes and maintains a positive working relationship with customers, stakeholders and team members across the programContributes project management best practices and thought leadership to the Project Management OrganizationThe Right Place for You

Bachelor's degree in related field, specialized training or equivalent work experience12+ years of relevant work experienceExperience managing successful large programs using a formal project management methodologyExperience in interacting with business customers at all levels of an organizationExperience coaching and developing less experienced project managers in the area of project managementPeople management and development experienceHigh personal standards of integrityRole models a customer service mindsetProven ability to influence and shape outcomes through strong interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to think critically and conceptuallyAdditional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role :
