The State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has an exciting opportunity for a Seasonal Resource Assistant to support our Communications Unit based out of DEEP Headquarters in Hartford, CT. Position highlights : The Communications Assistant role blends creativity with public service, focused on enhancing public engagement and awareness on issues that affect safety, security, and affordability of life in Connecticut. Selection Plan
Important information for applicants : If selected for interview, applicants will be contacted by the division's hiring supervisor anticipated for March / April of 2025. Special Requirements
Incumbents who are supervisors of small recreational units may be required to perform emergency first aid and obtain a Basic First Aid Certificate. Some positions may require : valid Motor Vehicle Operator license, valid pesticide license, college training in a specific field, EMT certification, or ARC Lifeguarding Certification (with CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid). An EMT or MRT certification may substitute for CPR and First Aid requirements.
Physical Requirements
Incumbents must possess and maintain adequate physical strength and stamina. For lifeguard-related duties, the ability to demonstrate ARC waterfront lifeguarding swimming skills may be required.
