PICU RN Job Details – Columbus, OH Assignment Type : Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse) Location : Columbus, Ohio 43205 Start Date : October 20, 2025 End Date : January 19, 2026 Duration : 13-week contract Shift : 4x12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 – 19 : 30) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2250-$2310 Healthcare Setting : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Float Pool Patient Ratios : 2 : 1 Orientation : 8 hours Weekend Coverage : Required Floating : Required to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department (ED), stepdown, and MedSurg units as needed PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience in a U.S. hospital Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse license (must be current at submission) BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association preferred) Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system (self-rated 3 / 4 or higher) Willingness to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MedSurg units Two professional references required (one must be a manager or supervisor) Commitment to complete the full 13-week assignment through the New Year First-time travel nurses considered (3+ years of experience and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred) Cannot have worked as permanent staff at the facility within the past 2 years No local candidates (must live outside a 60-mile radius of Columbus, OH) PICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU and other assigned units Float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, stepdown, and MedSurg units as required Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment Administer medications, blood products, and manage advanced medical equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, etc.) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Educate and support pediatric patients and their families throughout the care process Maintain strict adherence to infection control, patient safety, and hospital protocols Apply now to join our Columbus, Ohio healthcare team as a PICU Registered Nurse and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
