The AECOM Phoenix, Arizona office is seeking a Junior-Level Civil Design Engineer to join our Geo-Civil team. Responsibilities
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered and identifies discrepancies in results
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
- Undertake preliminary and detailed design activities
- Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
- Prepare engineering related calculations and create estimates
- Review of quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy
- Prepare technical memoranda, preliminary, detailed design reports, and technical specifications
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D on a daily basis to prepare design models, drawings, plans, sections, details, profiles / sections, and develop visual aids
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
- Oversee and direct data collection and analysis activities
- Develop engineering design skills through periodic field experience. This may include construction support, site inspections, and geotechnical investigations
- Provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions
- Work as part of a team to complete assignments
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
BA / BS in Civil Engineering + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or educationValid US Driver's LicensePreferred Qualifications
Strong technical progression within Civil Engineering and DesignStrong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DAbility to travel4+ years experienceEIT Certification is strongly preferredPE preferredAdditional Information
Relocation is not available for this role.Sponsorship is not available for this position.Occasional project site travel (up to 20%) may be required for this position.Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $110,000.00.
