Civil Design Engineer

Overview

The AECOM Phoenix, Arizona office is seeking a Junior-Level Civil Design Engineer to join our Geo-Civil team. Our strong presence in the region opens the doors to significant and interesting projects in the mining, dams, and power sectors. Responsibilities

• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered and identifies discrepancies in results
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
• Undertake preliminary and detailed design activities
• Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
• Prepare engineering related calculations and create estimates
• Review of quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy
• Prepare technical memoranda, preliminary, detailed design reports, and technical specifications
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D on a daily basis to prepare design models, drawings, plans, sections, details, profiles / sections, and develop visual aids
• Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
• Oversee and direct data collection and analysis activities
• Develop engineering design skills through periodic field experience. This may include construction support, site inspections, and geotechnical investigations
• Provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions
• Work as part of a team to complete assignments

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $110,000.00.
