Job Description :
Manager, Donor Relations develops and manages relationships with current and potential donors to secure philanthropic support for an organization. Key responsibilities include cultivating donor relationships through personalized communication and events, implementing fundraising strategies and campaigns, managing donor databases, and creating compelling content for appeals and stewardship reports. The role requires strong communication, project management, and organizational skills, as well as a deep commitment to the organization's mission.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute strategies to engage donors and implement stewardship plans that will foster a sense of connection and belonging to Prairie View A&M University.
- Plan and execute donor-related events, including donor appreciation gatherings, alumni reunions, and cultivation activities.
- Ensure timely and meaningful acknowledgement of donor gifts through personalized thank-you letters, calls, student videos, annual impact reports and other expressions of gratitude.
- Create and manage recognition programs and initiatives to honor donors and their contributions.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of regular donor communications for materials, including newsletters, impact reports and updates on university's progress.
- Work closely with Marketing and communications, colleges and other departments to tell compelling stories of donor impact.
- Serve as a point of contact for donor inquiries and feedback, addressing their concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the University Advancement team, development officers, and alumni relations staff to create comprehensive donor relations plans.
- Work with the development team to identify potential major gift prospects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in applicable field.Two years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, alumni relations, or a related field in higher education.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of donor moves management, fundraising event coordination, and CRM / database systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working cooperatively with others.Knowledge of best practices in donor relations and stewardship.Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Marketing.Four years of related experience.Experience working in a development office for a non-profit or higher ed. institution.Experience using Blackbaud or Salesforce CRMs.Experience creating donor-centric content for communications and collateral.Experience leading temporary teams for events and donor cultivation / stewardship activities.Other requirements :
