The Opportunity
Our location in Abbott Park, Illinois has an immediate opportunity for a Tax Analyst on our Property Tax Team. This role will assist in all aspects of property tax compliance valuation, rendition, controversy, audit and planning for the real and business personal property owned by Abbott Laboratories. The Property Tax Analyst will be primarily accountable for the timely creation and submission of a high-volume of business personal property tax returns, and the accounting and timely payment of a high-volume of property tax bills. What You'll Work On
Interact with multiple software systems / platforms to obtain and maintain asset data from multiple corporate divisions;Prepare, analyze and submit annual business personal property returns for Abbott property throughout the United States;Research and analyze the validity of assessed values for real and personal property accounts by producing independent valuations using generally accepted valuation methods;Execute the timely payment of real and personal property tax liabilities throughout the United States;Assist in the preparation, response and favorable resolution of property tax audits for Abbott owned / operated property;Assist with the research, preparation and negotiation / adjudication of real and business personal property tax appeals;Assist with on-site research at Abbott facilities throughout the United States;Coordinate and execute other projects as directed by management;Be responsible for continuous self-improvement and continuing education in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing legal and technological landscape.Required Qualifications
B.S. / B.A. in Accounting, Finance or other relevant major.Prior experience in a Tax, Finance, AR / AP, or similar corporate / consulting environment.Proficient in Microsoft Excel.Excellent oral / written communication skills.Excellent analytical skills and a pronounced ability to independently problem-solve.Excellent time-management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize a high-volume, dead-line driven workload.Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CMI, and / or MAI designation(s).2+ years of property tax experience.Proficient in Alteryx, SAP and / or PTMS (Property Tax) software.The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
