The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest and most complex department in the Morsani College of Medicine, with over 26 divisions, programs and centers / institutes, more than 1,000 total staff, and an annual all-source budget exceeding $143,000,000. The department's ongoing growth includes the restructure of Cardiovascular Sciences from a separate department to a division, support of the microbiome initiative, and clinical, research and education initiatives focused on COVID-19 and emerging infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
- The Research Support Specialist (RSS) will coordinate, conduct, and evaluate research-related activities for clinical research projects as assigned. The primary purpose is to oversee the regulatory component of the clinical trials, screen, enroll and retain study participants, coordinate study visits, ensure data quality throughout the study, and implement procedures and activities of the assigned study protocols, in accordance with applicable regulations and regulatory compliance, under the direction of the Principal Investigator and the Director of Clinical Research.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements : A high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in office or administrative support or in research support. College education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.Preferred : Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science, Public Health, Health Science, Nursing or other directly related field of study. Bilingual - Spanish. Certified in Clinical Research with a reputable clinical research society. RN, State of Florida License. Phlebotomy training. Clinical research experience or clinical work environment preferred. Experience with PWUD is preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and other software packages.Equivalency : Four years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree; six years may be substituted for a master's degree.Background check : This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.Accommodation : Applicants for USF employment are entitled to request reasonable accommodations in the application process.
