We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Event Chef to lead events for a luxury hotel group in NYC. This is a high-impact role within an acclaimed hospitality group that values seasonality, precision, and innovation. Key Responsibilities :
Culinary & Menu Development
- Standardize recipes and food presentation.
- Collaborate with FOH managers and reservations teams to align service and menus.
- Conduct tastings, lineups, and training sessions to ensure consistent execution.
Food & Labor Cost Management
Contribute to weekly and monthly food cost goals through ordering, inventory, waste control, and vendor relations.Oversee BOH staff ensuring adherence to schedules and break requirements.Monitor labor costs, report weekly to the Executive Chef, and support schedule optimization.Team Leadership & Development
Hire, onboard, and train BOH team members.Develop succession planning for Sous Chefs and line employees.Build SOPs for prep, production, and daily operations to ensure consistency.Meeting & Event Coordination
Represent the culinary department in weekly leadership, BEO, and kitchen operations meetings.Ensure clear communication with FOH teams, engineering, and other departments.Kitchen Compliance & Safety
Ensure DOH and HACCP compliance through documented SOPs.Reinforce our standards of cleanliness and organization of all spaces.Operational Coverage
Provide coverage across all culinary areas including catering, 3-meal restaurants, room service, commissary, and events as needed.What We’re Looking For :
4+ years of experience in a high-volume culinary leadership role (event or banquet experience strongly preferred).Strong understanding of food cost, labor management, and kitchen systems.Proven ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining high standards .Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.NYC Food Protection requiredPassion for culinary excellence, team development, and guest experience.Benefits :
