Our Services for People with Disabilities team is searching for dedicated, compassionate hourly full-time and / or part-time (10-29 hrs / wk and / or 30+ hrs / wk) Caseworkers in the Des Moines area . As one of Iowa's most trusted human services agencies, LSI has a legacy of serving children, adults, and families for more than 160 years. Our Services for People with Disabilities wrap care around individuals across the state, from providing occasional respite care or weekly services, to 24 / 7 support in either a shared apartment environment or one-on-one care through our Supported Community Living (SCL) program. You can make a direct impact on the lives of the Iowans we are privileged to serve.

What You'll Do

An hourly SCL Caseworker works with children and some adults with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental illness. Our Caseworkers are there to provide support, assistance, and instruction in learning independent living skills like :

• Money management
• Socialization
• Cooking
• Personal hygiene

It's important that the individuals we work with are encouraged to be involved in their community. Our Caseworkers should know the basics of outcome-based performance measures, and develop Individualized Service Plans that are functional and reflective of the personal goals each of our individuals have. Will need to complete required documentation in a timely manner.

Schedules are flexible to meet your needs and the clients' needs. An hourly Caseworker is a caregiver who primarily works one on one with individuals in a mix of day, after-school and evening hours, mostly Monday through Friday. This role also has the potential to grow as more hours become available, and if desired.
