This Job is PART-TIME at 28 hours a week.
Qualifications :
Strong interpersonal skills : empathy, warmth, acceptance, and effective communication.
Ability to quickly build rapport using verbal and non-verbal communication.
Skilled in forming therapeutic alliances and guiding clients toward their goals.
Proficient in motivational interviewing and adapting therapy approaches when needed.
Comfortable addressing difficult material and strong emotions in therapy.
Able to instill hope, highlight client strengths, and encourage self-responsibility for progress.
Culturally aware and able to coordinate with other care providers.
Self-aware, ethical, and mindful of personal impact on the therapeutic relationship.
Knowledge of evidence-based practices and major therapy approaches (CBT, ACT, Solution Focused, REBT, Reality Therapy, Person-Centered, Gestalt).
Familiarity with HIPAA, 42 CFR, and professional ethics.
Flexible schedule, including evenings / weekends as needed.
Strong skills in treatment planning, records management, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Commitment to self-care, healthy boundaries, and professional growth.
Able to collaborate with community agencies and serve as a liaison.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Maintain appropriate licensure and continuing education.
Build therapeutic relationships to help clients identify strengths, set goals, and make positive changes.
Stay current with professional knowledge and best practices.
Adhere to state and federal regulations, confidentiality, and ethics.
Perform the 12 Core Functions of counseling, including :
Screening & Intake : Assess appropriateness, eligibility, and complete admission paperwork.
Orientation : Explain program goals, client rights, and expectations.
Assessment : Gather history, use assessment tools, and create diagnostic evaluations.
Treatment Planning : Develop and update individualized treatment plans with clear goals.
Counseling : Provide individual, group, and family counseling tailored to client needs.
Case Management : Coordinate services and advocate for client needs.
Crisis Intervention : Respond effectively to client crises.
Education : Teach skills such as communication, relationships, and parenting.
Referrals : Connect clients with additional resources and supports.
Reports & Records : Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress notes.
Discharge & Aftercare : Support client transitions and create aftercare plans.
Consultation : Collaborate with supervisors and other professionals for effective care.
