Insight Global is looking  a dedicated and experienced Colorectal Surgical Coder to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding colorectal surgical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare providers and ensure accurate coding and billing.

Location : Remote (Open to hire out of state but not in CA, WA, OR, CO, NV, NY)

Schedule : M-F 8am-5pm CST (no weekends, call, or holidays)

Requirements :

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.

2+ years of experience in general surgical coding, with a focus on colorectal procedures (professional fee based).

Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

Plusses :

Experience in oncology coding.

Additional certifications such as Certified General Surgery Coder (CGSC) or Certified Gastroenterology Coder (CGIC).

Experience with Athena / Epic EMR

Day-to-day :

• Read medical and surgery reports and assign the right codes
• Make sure everything follows federal rules
• Talk with doctors to clarify procedures
• Stay updated on coding rules
• Help with audits and fix billing issues
• Keep a 95% accuracy score
• Use EHR systems and coding software
