Job Title : Job Coach – Employment Services (DSP)
Location : Canton, CT
Employment Type : Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule : Monday–Friday, 9 : 00 AM–3 : 00 PM (30 hours / week)
Salary : $19.25 per hour
Reports To : Employment Services Manager and Assistant Manager
About the Role :
Favarh is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Job Coach (Direct Support Professional) to join our Employment Services team. In this role, you’ll support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I / DD) in gaining meaningful employment and developing greater independence. As a Job Coach, you’ll provide on-site guidance, job training, and community integration, helping participants reach their personal and professional goals.
This position involves working in both group and individualized employment programs based out of our Canton, CT office. You’ll serve as a positive representative of Favarh in the community, fostering inclusion and promoting independence.

Key Responsibilities :
Employment Program Support
Assist individuals in achieving employment goals through hands-on coaching and skill development
Support participants in both group-supported and independent employment settings
Provide on-site coaching in community job placements (packaging, janitorial, clerical, manufacturing, etc.)
Aid in resume building, job searches, interviews, and employment onboarding
Maintain positive relationships with community employers and represent Favarh professionally
Encourage appropriate workplace behavior, grooming, and attire
Client Engagement & Supervision
Promote independence, dignity, and civil rights of all participants
Encourage social and leisure activities during non-work hours
Provide transportation to and from job sites as needed
Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all clients
Administer medications in accordance with Favarh policies (training provided)
Provide minor behavioral counseling and support; escalate major concerns to management
Documentation & Communication
Complete daily logs and documentation in Therap (web-based system)
Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and community partners
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and agency events
Follow all agency procedures, confidentiality guidelines, and DDS safety standards
Provide shift updates and maintain communication across staff and leadership
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 21 years old
At least one year of experience in Health, Education, Rehabilitation, or Residential Services
Valid Connecticut driver’s license for 3+ years with a clean driving record
Must pass Ride Share and background check requirements
Certification in PMT, First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration (provided by Favarh)
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Professional appearance and behavior at all times
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time efficiently
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Experience with job coaching or employment services preferred
Basic computer literacy; experience with Therap a plus
Physical & Work Environment Requirements :
Regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Visual acuity for close and distance vision
Ability to assist clients physically and transport them safely
Moderate noise levels in community and program settings
