In this role, the Project Engineer will assist in :
- completing assessment of roadways and drainage structures
- development of design plans for projects of varying complexity, ranging from pavement overlays to roundabout design
- complete construction inspection of road and bridge projects
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assessment & Project Design – under supervision of a Project Manager (Professional Engineer) :
Coordinate with clients to determine project needsComplete on site investigation of roadway assets and develop recommendations for improvementsDevelop design plans for roadway projects using AutoCAD and MicroStationAssist in the preparation of quantities and cost estimatesComplete quality control reviews of construction plans, design calculations and other contract documentsCoordinate with contractors, utility companies and other stakeholders to discuss plans, specifications, and schedulesWork closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projectsRequirements :
Education and Experience
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply civil engineering fundaments to real-world projectsAbility to learn and interpret INDOT Design Manual and Standard SpecificationsExcellent written and verbal communications skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or universityLicenses, Certifications :
