The congregation seeks a full-time pastor to serve the church located in New York's Catskill Mountain region two hours north of New York City.

About the Church

Woodstock Reformed Church stands facing the village green of a small town known for music, art and theater, sitting in a valley of the Catskill Mountains in New York. Founded in 1799, we are an inclusive and growing congregation that seeks "To know Christ and to make Christ known," our longstanding mission. We seek a pastor who finds joy in leading meaningful worship experiences that are empowered by the Holy Spirit, centered in Christ, and exalting God's love for us. Our new Pastor should be energetic, and an excellent communicator, who can appreciate and work with all the diversity that our church and community offer. Our congregation is intergenerational, open-minded, creative, and prayerful, ever looking for ways to welcome and engage the community at large. We offer an excellent music program, welcoming worship and a vibrant community of fellowship and service on our small but central campus in the heart of Woodstock.

About the Applicant

The successful applicant will be a passionate and dedicated spiritual leader who is :

• An excellent and engaging preacher and worship leader, who will help us apply Bible teachings to attendees everyday lives and the world today
• Actively engaged in the teachings and ministry of Jesus Christ
• Passionate about the social gospel and willing to engage the broader community on issues of compassion, equity, and inclusion
• Excited to help reach out to new members and develop the leadership of our congregation to continue and shape our future work as disciples of Christ in mission in our community and the world at large
• A skilled communicator who attends to the pastoral care of our diverse congregation and community, including youth and teens as well as an older adult population
• Interested and experienced in administrative needs of a small-midsize church with multiple-buildings, grounds and a small part time staff team
• Ordained in the Reformed Church in America preferred, or other "partner" denominations- Presbyterian Church USA, United Church of Christ, or Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

The Pastor would be called and in partnership with the Consistory of Elders and Deacons and the Classis of Mid-Hudson of the Reformed Church in America.
