Research & Instruction Librarians participate in USF Libraries’ information literacy instruction initiatives and support high-impact practices in associated courses and university initiatives. This position reports to the Director for Research & Instruction and is a member of the USF Libraries Faculty.
The Psychology and Evidence Synthesis Librarian will work closely with faculty, students, and staff in the Department of Psychology and related departments in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences across all three campuses. The incumbent will support evidence synthesis alongside the Evidence Synthesis working group across campuses in a variety of disciplines (excluding programs within USF Health). This is an Open Rank position. Candidates will be hired as an Assistant Librarian, Associate Librarian, or Librarian with a salary based on qualifications and experience. The posting closes on December 1, 2025.
Responsibilities
Actively engage with faculty, researchers, and students to understand their research and instruction needs, build collaborations, and promote library services.
Lead the Evidence Synthesis working group comprising USF Libraries’ faculty.
Collaborate with USF Libraries Research & Instruction colleagues on the three campuses on departmental initiatives such as assessment, outreach, library instruction, and supporting faculty and student research.
Develop a focused program of high-quality research and creative accomplishments required for promotion.
Actively participate and demonstrate leadership in professional responsibilities that serve the USF Libraries, USF, the profession, and the community.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in library / information science from an ALA‑accredited institution and appropriate experience as a professional librarian consistent with university guidelines.
Evidence of professional growth through publication, association activities, or other contributions to the field.
Must meet university criteria for appointments to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Librarian.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in applying evidence synthesis and / or systematic review methodologies to support researchers.
Demonstrated background in Psychology, Social / Behavioral Sciences, or Health disciplines.
Experience providing information literacy instruction to undergraduate and graduate populations.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build partnerships across the library and university.
Demonstrated capacity for scholarly publications and presentations.
