Senior Automation & Controls Engineer

Contract : 12 Months

Support

Provide Tier IV Level support and provide aid to any issue that may occur in your area or on the projects you're working on.

Engineering & Design

Read, interpret, review, and redline P&IDs, Electrical and Instrumentation Schematics.

Participate in design review of all projects.

Led a automation (controls) focused PHA

Take complete ownership of Tagging, Symbols and References for all projects

Key equipment design parameters design / operating pressure; design / operating temperature.

Hardware selection of key hardware components

Instrumentation suitability for the selected parameters; ranges; alarm set points; trip set points

Control panel interfaces signals to / from main control room and field instruments; hardwired signals; serial linked signals

Control loops between the instruments and equipment

Ensure project requirements, expectations, or operational points are within WIMS operating philosophies & standards

Author and ensure consistency between documents such as instrument index, control philosophy, programs, and C&E.

Review of P&ID to check consistency with ESD philosophy

Write Logic for SCP and ESD PLC

Write logic all transmitters and devices

Write Logic for all compressors

Write Logic for Scada Packs

Write Logic generators

Write Logic for Vent Fans

Write Logic for Gas Coolers

Write Logic for Gas Control

Write Logic for Power monitor

Write Logic for air compressors

Write Logic for ESD

Write Logic for Fire and Gas Detectors

Setup all devices and input IP addresses

Order and Procure Modules and devices for project

Request IP address allocations from IT

Gas Control Data Test, Point to Point and final data review.

HMI Automation

Create Screen and alarms for SCP and ESD PLC

Create Screen and alarms all transmitters and devices

Create Screen and alarms for all compressors

Create Screen and alarms for Scada Packs

Create Screen and alarms generators

Create Screen and alarms for Vent Fans

Create Screen and alarms for Gas Coolers

Create Screen and alarms for Station Control

Create Screen and alarms Daily Report

Create Screen and alarms for trending

Create Screens alarms for ESD , Fire and Gas

Order HMI Machine for Wonderware

Order Wonderware License

Fat Testing

Travel and Conduct Factory acceptance test of Control buildings

Travel and Conduct Factory acceptance test of Control Panels

Travel and Conduct Factory acceptance test of Motor Control Centers

Documents

Maintain, test, verify, cause and effect, and IO list.

Commissioning

Travel and commission the entire station controls and automation system.

Test and commission every device tied into the control system as mentioned in PLC Programming and HMI Automation.

Test and commission Scada

Experience :

8-10 years of experience preferred

5 years of experience is minimum

Prior oil and gas experience

Advanced PLC & SCADA / HMI expertise programming (SCP, ESD, compressors, fire & gas), Wonderware HMI development (screens, alarms, trending, dashboards).

Instrumentation & control systems hardware selection, device setup, IP configuration, control loops, alarm / trip setpoints, and E&I schematic / P&ID interpretation.

Testing & commissioning hands-on experience with FAT (control buildings, panels, MCCs) and full-site commissioning of automation and safety systems.

Oil & Gas domain knowledge minimum 5 years (8-10 preferred) with strong understanding of process automation, gas control, compressors, and safety-critical systems.

Leadership & support skills Tier IV troubleshooting, ownership of design reviews / PHAs, cross-functional collaboration, documentation, and willingness to travel.
