PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :

As the leader overseeing key railway infrastructure, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving bridges, culverts, retaining walls, buildings, and other facilities across a critical territory from Kansas City to Chicago. Leading a team of about 12 unionized employees, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring safety, operational efficiency, and full compliance with standards, policies, regulations, and operating rules. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Inspect bridges, culverts, and retaining walls

Heavily involved in the development and execution of multi-year construction and maintenance plans for assigned territory

Ensure that work is carried out in a manner that aligns with applicable collective bargaining agreements

Supervise and lead staff to ensure safe and effective work is performed

Follow and implement budgets for construction and maintenance projects

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

High school diploma or general equivalency

Valid driver's license

High school diploma or general equivalency

Effective communication skills, written / oral and understanding of computer systems

Previous experience leading a team of direct reports

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification / qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
