Automation Specialist II at Scout Energy Partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert level field support for a wide array of programmable logic controllers including Allen Bradley, Scada Pac, Fisher ROC and Omron.
• Interpret and troubleshoot PLC logic including ladder logic, function block, and structured text routines.
• Collaborate with SCADA Analysts to support SCADA Applications, Servers and Network equipment for field communications.
• Troubleshoot, repair / replace communication devices at SCADA Towers including network switches, IP-to-serial devices, access points, and serial master radios.
• Provide PLC and field device register mapping, tag names and other input / output locations for loading data into SCADA applications.
• On-site support and trouble response during SCADA network and communications outages; replace or reconfigure equipment as needed.
• Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot field instrumentation devices for process equipment including pressure, flow and temperature devices; automated and mechanical level control and measurement devices; analytical equipment and instrumentation.
• Design, install, inspect and troubleshoot electrical equipment in accordance with NEC NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, API RP 500 and company standards.
• Identify, interpret and effectively use drawings and documentation related to electrical and process controls including Electrical One-line diagrams, Elementary diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, P&ID's, Cause and Effect diagrams, Instrument Loop diagrams, Interconnect diagrams, etc.
• Troubleshoot and repair motor control circuits and equipment including VFDs, motors and motor control circuits.
• Develop written job plans for electrical and instrumentation projects.
• Plan and direct procurement of repair parts and material for electrical and instrument systems for project and maintenance purposes.
• Coordinate and conduct maintenance activities on end devices to include pre-programming of transmitters w / Hart communicator and ensure data accuracy.
• Conduct in depth failure analysis on repeat equipment failures.
• Provide accurate quotes for automation and maintenance projects.
• Mentor Techs on troubleshooting and repairs of automation equipment.
• Respond and provide automation support during outages.
• Operate within an assigned work schedule and maintain zero out of compliance work orders.
• Provide input on new technologies.
• Assist technicians during storm outages to bring wells back online.
• Work with appropriate staff to develop automated solution and troubleshooting of automated assets.
• Work to design, build, test, and implement automation solutions for Scout.
• Confirm and QC technical and analytical work tasks by conducting tests; modify as needed.
• Maintain workflow and programming documentation for all work by developing and updating procedures & manuals.
• Perform other various tasks as assigned by supervisor.
