Overview
Hive + Co (formerly Level) has a contract to hire opportunity for an MES Engineer with our client supporting and optimizing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within the solar panel production facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Java programming, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and hands-on experience with Rockwell FTPC platforms. This role will serve as a critical link between production operations and IT systems, ensuring seamless data flow, system reliability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain MES solutions to support solar panel manufacturing operations.
- Develop, test, and implement applications and customizations using Java, XML, and Oracle SQL.
- Configure and troubleshoot Rockwell FTPC platform components, including Process Designer's Event Sheets and Forms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Quality, IT) to translate business requirements into technical MES solutions.
- Ensure seamless system integration between MES and ERP / WMS systems to support production and supply chain operations.
- Monitor and optimize MES performance, ensuring reliability, compliance, and alignment with manufacturing standards.
- Provide user training, documentation, and ongoing support to shop-floor and back-office personnel.
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, validation, and other lifecycle activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing production data and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.Proficiency in Java programming with experience in manufacturing or industrial IT environments.Hands-on experience with Rockwell FTPC, particularly Process Designer's Event Sheets and Forms.Strong knowledge of XML and data exchange protocols.Proficiency in Oracle SQL for data queries, analysis, and integration tasks.Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Rockwell FTPC Shop Operations Server.Knowledge of JBoss application server administration.Proficiency in C# for cross-platform integration or legacy system support.Experience with KEPServer, including device tagging and data connectivity management.General understanding of SCADA, ERP, and WMS systems.Prior experience in solar manufacturing environments.Job Types : Full-time, Contract
