Job Duties And Responsibilities :
Maintain and promote a teamwork environment with effective and clear communication amongst co-workers through positive leadershipSet example through professional, friendly attitude towards clients and co-workers, timely response to clients and co-workers and observance of sales office standardsResponsible for learning the hotel brand and strategyDevelop a complete knowledge and ensure adherence to company sales policies and SOPsDrive customer loyalty in order to grow share of the account by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experienceEstablish and maintain existing business clientele relationships prior to, during and post conference ensuring service exceeds expectations and encouraging repeat businessReview all contracted services to ensure proper contributions to profitsManage catering accounts to maximize revenue and profitability while achieving customer expectationsNegotiate catering business, food and beverage, audio visual equipment, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goalsNegotiate contracts according to company standardsIdentify and solicit new accounts from telemarketing, appointments, site tours, cold calls, and inquiries via email, phone, and in person interactionsConducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and proceduresExecutes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (generating proposals, contracts, and customer correspondence)Work with catering sales managers to ensure understanding of department budget and goalsConducts daily / weekly catering and SEO meetingsResponsible for accuracy of BEOs and communication of changes between client and appropriate disciplines. Attend and contribute to all revenue and sales strategy meetings and callsParticipates in forecasting for revenue and expensesUnderstand, leverage, and implement corporate and brand tools to exceed budgetsConduct ongoing competitor price and product analysis to ensure proper rate positioning and product offering relative to competitionConducts weekly and monthly share analysis for measurement of hotels market performance versus competition and implements strategies accordingly in conjunction with the Director of Sales, Regional Director of Sales, Regional Director of Revenue Management, GMActively participate in industry related organizations (MPI, NACE)Develop and implement catering promotions to generate businessDevelop and execute sales action plans to close on business and assist with annual marketing / business and budget plansSet and monitor team member goals including weekly sales activities, room rental, food and beverage, and audio visual goals monthly, quarterly, yearlyOperate the sales department within established sales expense budgetCoordinate, prepare, and submit any required reports as requested by the DOS, Regional team or GMPerform in the capacity of any position supervisedAbides by Prime Time Selling hoursPerform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectivesEducation And Experience :
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Administration, Business, or MarketingMinimum of five (5) years in hotel or conference Catering / SalesKnowledge, Skills And Abilities :
Strong analytical skills relative to impact on hotel revenuesAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingExcellent listening and problem-solving skillsAbility to make recommendations and set strategy based on trends and historical dataNegotiating SkillsStrong interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Products, focus on Excel, Word and OutlookAbility to travel as neededMust have flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidaysThe hiring process may consist of a phone interview, manager(s) interview, drug screen, background check, reference checks, and potential employment assessment.
