Sr Tech / Sort Sys

Job Duties

Maintains and repair all package sorting and container handling equipment in the hub and in field stations; maintains all electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems in accordance with established FedEx maintenance procedures In addition to general facility taskings and assignments.

Minimum Education

High school diploma / GED

Minimum Experience

Four (4) years experience, of which 24 months being as a FedEx sort systems technician, or 24 months of maintenance on similar equipment / systems, as a commercial / industrial maintenance technician with background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic & materials handling systems maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess good working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment and procedures. Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavy sort related components, parts and equipment with appropriate equipment and / or assistance. Good interpersonal and oral communications skills. Ability to access equipment by crawling, laying, standing and / or climbing at all heights both above and below ground level.

Job Conditions

Must be willing to work odd work weeks, o / t, holidays & rotating shifts. Valid driver's license required. Non-covered safety sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Pay Transparency : This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting pay range in New Jersey. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay will be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. Regular full-time employees, or part-time employees who have completed 91 days of employment and worked a minimum average of 12 hours per week, are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and / or vision coverage, tuition reimbursement and retirement savings.

Pay : $33.00 - $43.41
