Overview
The Quality Engineer oversees all quality-related activities undertaken to support manufactured products at DTTP, the products we procure from other sister plants, and the products and accessories we procure from third-party vendors. Responsible for the continuous improvement of the organization's product quality and procedure adherence to ensure quality consistency. Reviews quality standards, tolerances, and engineering changes. Evaluates engineering changes for existing products, outsourced parts, processes and subassemblies, and new products. Analyzes engineering specifications and manufacturing processes for newly introduced products. Develops test plans and quality testing equipment. Monitors periodic warranty reports and drives improvement initiatives. Investigates and analyzes complex quality problems, recommends solutions, and ensures corrections are made.
Responsibilities
- Be the chief advocate for the manufacturing operations and end customers, ensuring all the new products are launched at a better-quality level than the products we currently produce.
- Track and communicate the current state of product launches and the performance of launched products through a comprehensive set of metrics.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and assurance of product quality by standards adherence.
- Coordinate with Tech Services, Quality Control, Reliability, Warranty Analytics, and Supplier Quality to oversee and drive Corrective and Preventive Actions related to quality issues affecting DTTP operations.
- Lead Development Quality Improvement and Warranty Monitoring reporting activities for all new product launches.
- Lead and orchestrate New Product Launch efforts to minimize impact on manufacturing operations.
- Lead organization-wide quality improvement initiatives and develop new quality improvement techniques and strategies.
- Supervise, train, and audit incoming personnel and auditors (lab / line).
- Provide support to production and ensure system adherence.
- Ensure product design, supplier, reliability, and component changes are verified and validated through design engineering test and reliability test processes.
- Manage complex, high-impact projects related to warranty cost reduction and NPD launches.
- Act as a recognized authority on HVAC quality issues and solutions.
- Mentor and develop project management skills in other engineers.
- Ensure effective operation and strategic planning for Quality Assurance.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Supplier Quality Assurance, and Reliability to ensure supplier and internal changes are fully qualified after implementation.
- Ensure the Quality Policy and the Daikin Core Values are understood and used as guides for decision-making.
- Oversee Development Quality Department operations, set clear expectations, ensure fair scheduling and effective hiring, manage performance, and promote environmentally friendly practices.
- Act as proxy for the manager when needed to drive best practices and timely decision-making to support deliverables.
- Perform additional projects / duties to support ongoing business needs.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities with ability to motivate cross-functional teams.Expert-level knowledge of HVAC systems, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.Ability to manage multiple projects with urgency using PDCA to deliver results.Six Sigma and / or Quality Engineering certification required.Ability to convert data into actionable information and communicate to senior leadership using statistical methods.Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, Tableau) and ERP / PLM systems.Strong problem-solving skills; proficient with DMAIC, 6 Sigma methods, FMEA, and lean methods.Solid skills in engineering standards and drawing interpretation.Excellent communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.Advanced knowledge of DOE, ANOVA, and regression analysis.Ability to create business cases for quality issues and lead multidisciplinary teams to resolutions.Advanced knowledge of QMS and APQP / PPAP processes; experience with ISO 9001 is a plus.Ability to identify and manage reliability risks and monitor product safety during development.Promotes a culture of continuous improvement.Strong judgment, work ethic, and integrity.Competencies

8+ years of experience in quality engineering or related field, with significant HVAC or similar manufacturing experience and a proven track record of driving quality improvements.Education / Certification
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).Master's degree (Engineering, Quality Management, or related field).Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt.Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification.People Management
